Originally built as the private shooting lodge for the Duke of Roxburghe, the estate is intimately connected and renowned for high-bird pheasant and partridge shooting, utilizing the dramatic topography of the steep, heather-clad hills and valleys. Welcome to our world of wild goats, mink, rare red squirrels, fox, deer, hares and of course the sheep! It’s all of the above and more.

Golfers staying at Greenhill Lodge are perfectly placed to enjoy premier golf, featuring easy access to scenic, historic courses and the championship-level 18 holes at nearby Schloss-Roxburghe golf course and at Eyemouth, which offers dramatic coastal views and has it’s spectacular 6th hole over the cliffs. Enjoy parkland, woodland, and hilly landscapes for your golfing in the Borders —offering an ideal escape with charming, uncrowded, and friendly local clubs nearby.

As part of the Roxburghe Estates, angler guests staying at Greenhill Lodge in Kelso are ideally positioned for world-class fishing and have access to some of the finest salmon and trout fishing in Scotland. The famous River Tweed and its tributary, the Teviot, offer excellent opportunities to cast a line for Atlantic salmon, sea trout, and wild brown trout. Local guided trips are available to private beats. Fishing permits for rivers such as the Tweed, Teviot, and Jed can be arranged for a variety of experiences.
